From Sumatra and Java
to Sulawesi, Bali, and Flores

Indonesia is made up of thousands of islands, with coffee growing across its mountains, valleys, and highlands. From Sumatra and Java to Sulawesi, Bali, and Flores, every origin has its own landscape, character, and way of doing things. We work across these origins to bring those differences closer to the people who buy, roast, and enjoy the coffee - from familiar commercial coffees to more distinctive specialty selections.

Java

Ijen & West Java Highlands

Java has a long relationship with coffee, shaped y its highlands, volcanic landscapes, and generations of coffee growing. From the Ijen area to highlands of West Java, the coffees we source from Java are selected for the character that makes the origin so versatile a smooth medium body, clean chocolate aroma, subtle nuttiness, and a delicate floral finish.

It is a profile that feels familiar without being ordinary. Balanced enough for everyday espresso and commercial programs, while still offering enough character to stand on its own. For us, Java is about finding that balance coffees that are consistent, expressive, and suited to the way each buyer wants to use them.

Mandheling

North Sumatra Highlands

Mandheling comes from the highlands of North Sumatra, where coffee has been grown for generations across the mountain landscapes of the region. The coffees we source from Mandheling are known for their depth and character — a heavier body, low acidity, herbal complexity, and notes that often lean toward dark chocolate and tobacco.

There is something unmistakable about a good Mandheling. It feels deep and familiar, with enough complexity to keep the cup interesting. It works naturally across different roasting styles and can bring weight and depth to both espresso and filter programs.

For us, Mandheling is about that sense of depth — coffees with presence, character, and the distinctive feel of North Sumatra.

Gayo

Aceh Highlands

High in the mountains of Aceh, Gayo has become one of Indonesia’s most recognized coffee origins. The high altitude, cool mountain environment, and generations of coffee growing have shaped an origin with its own identity.

The coffees we source from Gayo are selected across different grades and processes, giving buyers room to explore the origin in different ways. From clean washed coffees to more expressive natural and anaerobic lots, each process brings another side of Gayo forward.

For us, Gayo is about variety within one origin — a place where familiar Indonesian character can take many different forms.

Toraja

Sulawesi Highlands

In the highlands of Sulawesi, coffee grows across the mountainous landscapes of Tana Toraja, an area with a long history of coffee cultivation and a strong identity of its own.

The coffees we source from Toraja are selected for their character, with the origin offering a wide range of expressions depending on grade and processing. From traditional washed coffees to natural and anaerobic selections, Toraja can move from familiar and balanced to much more distinctive.

It is an origin with depth and personality — one that continues to stand out for buyers looking for something recognizably Indonesian, but with its own voice.
